À travers ses personnages principaux, Tamino, Papageno, Pamina, la Reine de la Nuit et Sarastro, Mozart dresse une fresque des sentiments humains et des rapports des hommes au pouvoir.
Cette œuvre nous donne à voir le parcours initiatique de trois personnages qui doivent se dépasser au cours d’épreuves afin d’établir un ordre nouveau. La Flûte enchantée est en effet une histoire de dualités : celle de l’ombre et de la lumière, celle du doute et de l’espoir et aussi celle de la pesanteur et de la grâce.
